FD Rd.1 Results:
Qualified in Top32 out of 50 cars, Then qualified into the Top 16 main event. Great turnout overall despite the trouble we had on the weekend.

Team Drift:
Awesome event, due to Tommy Suell's accident at Rd.1 he was not able to complete our 3 car team: Corolla M.O.B. instead John Russakoff ran with Drift Alliance and Yasu Kondo paired up with Chris Kregorian. Chris had problems so Yasu ran the day by himself just having fun under the Long Beach Sun!

YASU KONDO of JAPAN
It's not uncommon to hear that many drivers involved in drifting hail from Japan. Yasu Kondo has been driving and drifting in his personal machines since the early 90's. He now uses his skills learned in local Japanese mountains (touge) and race tracks here in the USA!
Yasu Kondo's USA drifting career began when he contacted KAAZ USA, a premiere Japanese Limited Slip Differential brand distributed in the USA by N.E.C. Yasu was aware that KAAZ already had a drifting program which featured drivers: Barry Wong, Bryan Norris and Hiromi, another Japanese female drifter. While vacationing in the USA, he soon stopped by and visited the company to introduce himself as a driver from Japan looking to compete in a professional U.S. Drift series. With that established, Ray Nakadate of KAAZ USA put him in a left hand drift Sil-80 for a few test sessions. Showing his skill and impressing Ray, the decision was made to put Yasu in his car of choice... the Toyota Corolla AE86. After much planned coordination, Yasu and the KAAZ guys went to a local Top Drift competition to see him put the Corolla to work. He took 1st place in the competition shortly there after. Competing against other highly skilled U.S. Professional drivers encouraged Yasu and the KAAZ Team to start the 2008 Formula D season with Yasu Kondo behind the wheel. His skills proved to be more then exceptional and allowed a new exciting drift year for both KAAZ USA and Yasu Kondo himself.
